Day of Prayer - Western Gathering
The Lutheran-Episcopal Joint Committee of Virginia is sponsoring a Day of Prayer at Trinity Ecumenical Parish in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. The speaker for the day will be Pastor Richard Bansemer. Pastor Bansemer will lead us in two group sessions considering how and why to pray, whom to pray with, resources for prayer, prayer and the liturgical year, and will share other personal prayer practices.
Richard Bansemer is Bishop Emeritus of the Virginia Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He has served as Pastor, Rural Retreat Lutheran Parish, Rural Retreat, VA; Pastor/Mission Developer, Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Dillon, CO; Pastor, St. John Lutheran Church, Roanoke, VA; and Associate Pastor, University Lutheran Church, Gainesville, FL. He has authored eleven books, including People Prayers, O Lord, Teach Me to Pray, Praying on the Journey with Christ, and Forced to Pray. He is also the writer of three librettos for oratorios about Job, Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and Jesus.

2:00 pm: Closing Worship
2:15 pm: Go in Peace
Registration fee is $20 per person. There is no registration deadline and you may register in person on the day of the event.
