Madelaine is trained in psychotherapy and coaching via the Harvard system, and in organizational behavior and consulting at Boston University's Graduate School of Management. She studied negotiation via the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, has met the training requirements for both General Mediation and Advanced Divorce Mediation, and is a former group mental health practice Administrative Director/Treasurer/Psychotherapist. As Associate Director of the Anatomical Gift Program at Harvard Medical School (HMS), Madelaine spoke before the HMS Joint Committee on the Status of Women and designed and delivered programs for the HMS Center for Learning and Performance.
She now teaches mindfulness to individuals and groups, here in the DC area, based on her extensive and ongoing study of evolutionary psychology, philosophy, and the brain and behavior. Madelaine enjoys helping people to make their personal and professional dreams come true. In addition to her private practice, she speaks in a variety of corporate and organizational settings, is a chapter co-author in the Handbook of Stressful Transition Across the Lifespan (Springer, 2010), has co-authored numerous articles in both the Across-Species Comparisons and Psychopathology Newsletter and the Massachusetts Council On Family Mediation Quarterly, and is currently blogging and co-authoring a book titled Get a Grip: Negotiating Great Narratives in Work, Play, Love, and Life.
