12:30 – A report from the Council on the Underground Economy, a legislated collaboration of state agencies to level the playing field for all MA businesses. Bill McKinney is the Director of MA Labor Standards. The CUE hot line is 877-96-LABOR. Mass.Gov/CUE
1:10 – Attorney General Office Division of Public Charities: Learn how to close a non-profit in MA, the procedures to resuscitate a non-filing non-profit and what reports are necessary to keep one in good standing. This is a great chance to gain insights and make contacts that few tax professionals have on hand.
1:50 – snack break
2:05 – Secretary of State Corporations Division - They are not tax filings, but they are reports necessary for a corporation to stay in business. leanr how to move a LLC in or out of MA. Marissa Soto-Ortiz is the Assistant Director and Attorney for the Corporations Division.
2:50 – MA DOR Hardships – procedures are changing. We know that DOR lacks a "CNC" status. Get the latest developments to streamline simple small dollar tax problems for struggling clients. Many of these administrative procedures are not available to the general public. Ed Coyle has served in many capacities at DOR and has been working this project for months.
3:30 – Gov’t Day concludes
Government day is $40, lunch is included and there is no IRS CPE.

7pm Special Guest Speaker: Eileen McAnneny, MA Taxpayers’ Foundation President, The Economics of Tax: How fiscal policy and tax are interwoven. The Foundation’s mission is to provide accurate, unbiased research with balanced, thoughtful recommendations that strengthen the state's finances and economy in order to foster the long-term well-being of the Commonwealth. Enrolled Agents have a chance to step away from the grungy details of forms and line numbers to reflect upon a broader view of the larger picture of the impact of tax. There is no IRS CPE for this session.
