 Dont' Lose the Plot Launch Event & Youth Agribusiness Panel

Feed the Future and USAID will officially launch East Africa’s newest reality TV show Don’t Lose the Plot from 2 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at PAWA 254 Center’s Mageuzi Theatre in Nairobi, Kenya.

East Africa’s newest reality television show, Don’t Lose the Plot, will follow four young farmers from Kenya and Tanzania as they battle it out to win a prize worth $10,000.

The launch event will include a press launch and a panel discussion on “Youth & Agribusiness: The Future of Food Security in East Africa”. In attendance at the event will be representatives from USAID, Africa Lead, Mercy Corps, and television production company Mediae.

Margaret Wambui Kihagi, Event MC and co-host of Don’t Lose the Plot

Margaret Kihagi is a 22-year-old actress and presenter. She has worked on several local dramas such as Makutano Junction, a Mediae production, as well as Machachari to name a few. She has also has experience in theatre arts. Currently, she’s one of the presenters on Don’t Lose the Plot.

Jack Kibedi, Event MC and co-host of Don’t Lose the Plot

Jack Kibedi is a Kenyan born puppeteer, with over 14 years of experience designing, creating and performing with different types of puppets. During his tenure, he has worked with notable puppeteer, Gary Friedman, who has trained him from the onset of his career. He is also an artistic advisor on a well-known Kenyan puppetry political satire, The XYZ show.



 Patricia Gichinga, Producer at Mediae

Patricia has worked for Mediae since 2007, producing Makutano Junction, KnowZone, and managing the production of Shamba Shape Up. In 2013 Patricia and Mediae were nominated for the “Best TV Series” award at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards for Makutano Junction.

Victor Oloo, Communications Specialist at Africa Lead II

Victor Oloo is a Communications Specialist and serial entrepreneur working within East and Southern Africa. He is a Mandela Washington Fellow 2014, One Fine day films workshop alumni and a trained storyteller from the Princeton Global Seminar in 2013.

Angelah Madara, Digital Farmer Capability Lab Manager at Mercy Corps

Angelah has over 10 years’ experience in mobile based financial services and mobile health services. She was involved in the roll-out of M-PESA money transfer, Equity bank’s agency banking, Ecobank’s money transfer, and MTN mobile money. She holds an MBA from The University of Nairobi, a bachelor degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University and is a member of the Mobile Payment Association and the World Economic Association.

Tim Chesire, MD at Indicus East Africa

Tim is the MD of Indicus East Africa which he founded in 2009. The business is involved in the improvement of Kenya’s livestock sector by leveraging on genetics. Indicus hosts the only in-vitro fertilization lab in East Africa and gas donor and surrogate farms in Nakuru, Eldoret and Kitale. The company is looking to produce 20,000 calves annually by IVF through their lab located in Eldoret.

Marion Atieno Moon, Founder of Wanda Organic

Marion set up Wanda Organic expressly to develop and offer market based solutions to poverty through agriculture. Using the results of over 40 years in biotechnology research, Wanda is producing a bio-organic fertilizer that has proven to increase yields, reduce crop cycles, and suppress disease while improving soil health. After successful completion of certification by the Ministry of Agriculture in late 2014 Wanda went to the field where, with a team of 30 and over 50 collection points, works with over 8,000 farmers across 8 counties.


Kimathi Githachuri, Digital Financial Services Consultant

Kimathi has over ten years’ experience in mass markets in Africa and Asia. He was part of the initial team that rolled out Safaricom’s M-PESA agent network in Kenya. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration at The University of Nairobi and holds an MBA from the same university.
