COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Content is geared toward law enforcement professionals who would like to further their understanding of the semi automatic modern rifle. Students gain the skills to deploy their rifle in practical defensive shooting scenarios, as well as the knowledge to select appropriate accessories and supporting equipment.

• nomenclature of the rifle
• field stripping
• mechanical operation understanding (semi, burst, full auto)
• tactical slings
• sight adjustment and zeroing
• ready stances
• shooting positions
• reloading
• stoppage clearance techniques
• multiple targets
• fire control
• shooting on the move

 

FEE: $250

Students who successfully complete the course will earn a certificate of entry level proficiency.  Students who are unable to meet the standard will receive a certifcate of attendance.

 

GEAR LIST:

• Note-taking gear
• Eye and ear protection
• Baseball-style cap
• Gloves
• Modern sporting rifle with iron sights or red dot optic
• Minimum of 3 magazines
• Minimum of 400 rounds of ammunition
• Magazine carriers
• Duty belt
• Tactical sling
• Knee/elbow pads optional

Be prepared with all gear at start of class. These items are available for sale at Blueline. The store is open 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday; with a late night on Thursdays until 7:00 PM.

Students should zero their rifle BEFORE the course.  We will only be confirming groupings.

INSTRUCTOR:

Gino D. Vieira

Gino Vieira served in the United States Marine Corps Infantry for nine years. During combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, he led Marines against counterinsurgencies, detained known enemy combatants, discovered improvised explosive devices, and repelled enemy attacks in direct fire engagements. He is a military qualified expert in the M-16/M-4 family of military-style rifles. Gino has developed combat marksmanship skills of Marines and NATO coalition forces at home and abroad. Gino's “trademark” articulateness and patience allowed his students to successfully understand marksmanship methods and techniques despite diverse language barriers. Gino is a NRA certified Range Safety Officer, NRA certified Pistol Instructor, and NRA certified Rifle Instructor. He is also certified by Sig Sauer as a Semi Automatic Pistol Instructor and Patrol Rifle Instructor
