The North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA, has been in effect for more than 23 years, and the the producers of the United States, Canada, and Mexico have alll adapted to it.  That is Fact No. 1.  Fact No. 2 is that the three countries will soon begin the process of renegotiating NAFTA, and North America's governments and producers are now trying to adjust to what renegotiation might entail, its threats and its opportunities.   This next GBD colloquium will look at the role NAFTA plays in two key sectors of the U.S. economy: agriculture and automobile production.

The Automobile Panel will include presentations by Charles Uthus, American Automotive Policy Council; Yuri Unno, Toyota; Ann Wilson, Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association, and Jeff Werner, Daimler.

The Agriculture Panel: David Salmonsen of the merican Farm Bureau Federation will serve as moderator, and there will be presentations from Ken Barbic, Western Growers; Molly O'Connor, the National Association of Wheat Growers; Shawna Morris, U.S  Dairy Export Council, and Nick Giordano of the National Pork Producers Council.
