What affect will the new U.S. Supreme Court decision in Fry and Endrew F. have on the day-to-day operations of your school district? How do these decisions impact IEP team decisions in the future? How will the Trump administration's agenda, Secretary DeVos' leadership, and Congressional action impact special education? KYCASE welcomes Melinda Jacobs for her unique analysis and commentary on the futuee of special education law and how recent legal decisions are shaping the evolution of the field. Get ready for a fast-paced, provocative, and entertaining session that is guaranteed to make you think and give you plenty of tips for staff training to navigate the choppy waters of special education law (including determining the difference in EBD, ODD and socially maladjusted) in the coming school year!

9:00 - noon: Roll-out of KDE's Updated Record Review Document and Update IEP Guidance Document and possibly the new Autism Guidance Document (if work is completed by conference date) plus other KDE Updates from Gretta Hylton and staff from the Division of Learning Services.
As always, we will provide 9 hours of EILA credit for attending both days!

Are you beginning your first year as a Director of Special Education? Then come to the New DoSE Institute on Monday, July 10, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm, at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Dinner will be provided for you. There is NO COST to attend this institute!
IF you are finishing your first year as a DoSE, you are also welcome to attend the Institute! Dinner is on your own.
