Annual July FitC Boat Trip
Join FitC members for the annual Walnut Street River to River trip around the tip of Philadelphia in the new boat LIBERTY.
If you have never taken this trip, expect to see Philadelphia as you have never before seen it.Although it is exactly two miles on foot from the start to finish of this trip, we will enjoy a scenic 12 mile route by boat.
The highlights of this trip across town include:
- The Schuylkill Banks and Center City
- Bartram's Garden, Gray's Ferry and the mud flats of the tidal Schuylkill River
- Thirteen historically significant bridges
- The Industrial Areas of South Philadelphia
- The Navy Yard District and the ships that call it home including the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy
- The waterfronts of Philadelphia's New Jersey neighbors including Woodbury, Westville, Gloucester City and Camden
- The S.S. United States, the Battleship New Jersey and Philadelphia's working waterfont
- Penn's Landing and its historic ships the Moshulu, Olympia and Gazela
Start: 4:00 p.m. PROMPTLY at the dock beneath the Walnut Street Bridge at the Schuylkill. That's when we'll set off! See picture above.
End: 6:00 p.m. at Penn's Landing on the Delaware River.
Cost: $32 per person
This is a discounted price, and it also includes a bottle of water and a tip. For more, there is a cash bar on the boat.

If registration is closed, contact pamfreyd@earthlink.net and ask to be placed on the WAIT LIST. If another trip is scheduled, you will have the first opportunity to register.
This is a "rain or shine" trip. If the weather is severe, the trip will be cancelled and rescheduled for another time.
There is a restroom on the boat.
