EWGA Orlando June 2017 Event at Celebration Golf Club
Our EWGA Orlando June event is being played at the beautiful - Celebration Golf Club on Saturay June 10 starting at 9:00am. This years event at Celebration is going to be exciting as we have invited members from our neighboring EWGA chapters in Tampa, Polk County and Spacecoast to join us.
To help prepare those advancing to the EWGA Championship Semi Finals, we will be playing both stroke play and scramble team formats. We will flight the players similarly to the Chapter Championship with those players with a Handicap Index of less than 12.0 playing a little longer than the rest of the field. For those playing stroke play, we will flight the groups similar to the flights set up in the Chapter Championships.
If you choose to play as a scramble team, we will figure team handicaps based on your players index on 6.1.17. Each player on the team will be rated between a +2 for those who has an index of less than 12.1 and a -2 for those who have and Index of greater than 32.1. The conbined Index will be applied to the team score for the round to determine the Scramble Team Champ. If you choose to play as a scramble team - you will need to provide me with the names of the 4 players on the team ( you will need to put together a team and all register as a team)
The cost for the event will be as follows: Members - Golf, range balls and lunch - $55 and guests will be just $10 more.
Registration will close on June4 - so register early. All cancellations or changes must be received by midnight, June 4 - No exceptions.
Registration is limited to 72 players - so make sure you sign up soon. With players from 4 chapters participating, i expect the event to sell out.
As you probably know, our June event is the second leg of our Summer Championship series. This is where players earn points for playing, volunteering and winning at our events in May, June, July and August. At our final event in August at Reunion, we will be awarding our top winners with prizes including Edwin Watts Gift Certificates, rounds of golf at the courses we play during the Summer Series and Titleist Pro V1 golf balls. We will be awarding close to $2,000 in total prizes. Make sure you attend all of these events and play your best so you can get your share of the goodies!
