"Joint Research Task Force: Mass Spectrometry and the Cannabis Industry."

Twenty-nine States (and DC) have legalized medical marijuana. Retail sales of medical and recreational marijuana generated $6.5 billion last year, up from $4.8 billion in 2015. The cannabis industry has generated a wide variety of career opportunities, ranging from cultivators, processors and “budtenders” to quality control testing lab managers and technicians. We will take a closer look at this emerging industry, as well as the increasing role that mass spectrometry is playing in cannabis testing and research, from cannabinoid quantitation and terpene profiling to contamination testing, including heavy metals, residual solvents and pesticides. Mass spectrometry provides speed and sensitivity, ensuring that medical cannabis consumer products are accurately labeled and free from contamination. Ultra-fast mass spectrometry enables simultaneous quantitation of hundreds of pesticides by LC-MS/MS with exceptionally fast cycle times.

Join our joint research task force and learn more about the expanding role of mass spectrometry in the cannabis industry. A limited number of t-shirts will be provided to attendees that arrive on time.
