2017 Chiefs Cooking For Kids

Chiefs Cooking for Kids Dinner is an event hosted by the Board of Directors of The Youth Connection, Inc. and the AFPD Foundation, Inc. It is a unified effort between the metropolitan area Chiefs of Police and Fire and two local non-profits to make metropolitan Detroit a better place for families and kids.

The evening begins with an open buffet of recipes submitted by Host Chefs made up of law enforcement and
public safety chiefs and prepared by the culinary chefs of our partner restaurant, Max M. Fisher Music Center.
Guests are encouraged to indulge in multiple food stations of beautifully presented dishes, while enjoying a
festive party atmosphere. Participants can purchase voting tickets and vote for the dish they like best. The dish with the most voting tickets in their vase at the end of the night will be crowned the 2017 Chief Chef! There are also trophies and honors given to dishes in the following categories:
* Chief Chef
* Best Appetizer
* Best Dessert
* Best Entrée
* Chef’s Choice

Running concurrently with the dinner is a silent auction. The auction provides an opportunity to bid on a wide
variety of donated items in a casual environment.
