Occupational Therapists (OTTP): Our courses can provide professional development units (PDUs) to Occupational Therapists (OTs) licensed in California who take our courses if the OT determines that the course is related to his/her area of practice.
CADC, CCDP, CCJP, CCPS, CCS Certified Alcohol and/or Drug Abuse Counselors: Psycho-Legal Associates, Inc. provides professional development hours for Alcohol and/or Drug Abuse Counselors (i.e., CADC, CCDP, CCJP, CCPS, CCS) certified by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).Once you have obtained a credential from CCAPP (formerly CAADAC), you will need to maintain it by obtaining 60 hours of continuing education every two years, and must include at least three hours of ethics. A miniumm of 30 hours must be from approved provider programs and the other 30 hours may be achieved in areas or professional development.
Nurses: (RNs, PTs, LVNs, HHAs, CNAs): Psycho-Legal Associates, Inc. is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP 11769. This live course provides six contact hours per day.

Bio: Nicky MacCallum is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Nationally Certified Counselor and CAMFT Certified Clinical Supervisor and has been providing quality psychological services to children, adolescents, transition age youth and their families for more than 25 years. In addition to working as an Independent contractor providing training and workshops locally and internationally Ms. MacCallum is the Clinical Director of Youth Alive in Oakland, CA - Serving youth recovering from violent injuries in order to promote positive alternatives to violence and to reduce retaliation, re-injury, and arrest. Ms. MacCallum is the Chair of the Therapist's Working Group for the National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs (NNHVIP) and was a Collaborative Investigator for the DSM-5 field trials contributing on Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders as well as Depressive Disorders. Her work with Youth ALIVE! has been featured in Essence Magazine, and she has offered testimony to the California State Assembly Select Committee on Gun Violence in the East Bay. Ms. MacCallum has experience collaborating with child protective services, victims of crime services, family reunification, diversion programs, juvenile justice, community mental health, foster care, residential services, school based programs and hospital-based programs. Ms. MacCallum holds a bachelor's degree (with honors) in performing arts from the
University of London, Goldsmith's College (UK) and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from San Francisco State University.
