Saturday morning is a Driver Skills Clinic that will teach the fundamentals of performance driving in a fun and non-competitive setting. You will learn or refresh car handling skills such as cornering, acceleration, slalom and braking. Personal instruction from experienced Snake River Region SCCA drivers is provided and there will be ample practice time. You can go at your own pace in a controlled and secure environment. All experience levels are invited; it doesn’t matter if you are new to sports car driving or have many years’ experience.
At noon, take a break for lunch; a box lunch is included with your registration.
The afternoon Autocross will let you apply the skills you learned in the morning. First you’ll walk the course with experienced drivers to learn what to expect, then you can put your car and yourself to the test by driving the course. The instructors will be available to ride with you to give pointers or, if you’d like, they can drive your car so you might see how capable your Porsche is when driven competitively.
Do two people want to learn in the same car? No problem – just register an additional driver and you’ll both get driving time.
There are basic requirements for your car and a helmet is required (loaners will be available). See below for details.
All of this for just $40!
Sign up soon as registration is limited
in order to assure you have plenty of driving time.
All Porsche models are welcome.
Clean your car out! There should be no loose items anywhere inside your car (you don’t need that loose water bottle getting wedged under your brake pedal). This is best done at home so you don’t have a pile of stuff on the ground at the event. If your floor mats are not firmly attached to the floor, remove them.
All lug bolts/nuts must be torqued to their proper setting. The battery is to be locked down and the positive terminal covered.
Working seatbelts are required and will be worn during the event.
Approved helmets must be manufactured to the current rating (2015) or the two previous ratings (2010, 2005). Helmets built to Snell Foundation standards or other standards such as FIA 8860, SFI 31.1 and BS6658-85 Type A-FR are approved for use. Helmets may have Snell M (motorcycle) or K (kart) approval as well as SA (automobile racing). If you have questions about helmets, please contact the Registrar.
