Increasing Cultural Competency for Providing Treatment to African American TAY and Adults 

In order to improve treatment to African American Adults and transitional-aged youth with substance use disorders, internationally recognized trainer Roland Williams, MA, LAADC, ICADC, NCAC II, ACRPS, SAP will provide counselors, case managers, clinicians and other SUD service providers with information and strategies designed to improve cultural competency for working with African Americans while reducing racial/ethnic health disparities in SUD treatment outcomes. Special considerations will be given to African American transitional aged-youth; co-occurring disorders; and those involved in the justice system.

This course meets the qualifications for 5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Provider Approval Number PCE 307, the California Board of Registered Nurses, BRN Provider Number 12040, and the California Foundation for Advancement of Addiction Professionals (CFAAP), Provider Number 4C-04-604-0618.
