Environmental Education PD Series:
Increasing Student Engagement and Literacy Skills through Energy
Infuse relevant information and various teaching methods into content area while increasing student engagement and energy literacy.
This workshop will:
- provide cross-curricular hands-on activities to develop STEM skills focused on energy concepts correlated to NGSS, Common Core, and WI Model Academic Standards
- include gathering and analyzing data, hands-on experimentation with energy audit tools, and exposure to current events and text sets
- include time for collaboration and lesson planning
Recommended for middle and high school teachers.
All workshop participants will receive:
- ready-to-use hands-on lessons, Student and Teacher manuals, and other supporting resources and experiences
- evidence for teaching environmental education and technology education
- a certificate of participation from the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education upon successful completion of each workshop
- substitute reimbursement of $125 through UW Stevens Point
