8-31-17 Working with students with Autism for School Safety Officers

Speaker:  Sally Miracle & Laura Ferguson

Target Audience: All school safety officers

Description:  This training is geared towards school resource/safety officers.  Participants will be provided an overview of autism and some typical behaviors students with autism might exhibit.   Participants will learn strategies for building positive relationships with students with autism as a means to be proactive.  During this training, presenters will teach strategies for de-escalating stressful situations while keeping officers, students, and school staff safe.    CEU’s have been applied for.

GUESTS/UNREGISTERED POLICY

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
