CCA Study Session July 2017

The CCA exams, both the state and international exam, are intended to assess the knowledge base of applicants on a wide array of agronomic concepts. For both tests, performance objectives have been developed that identify these concepts.  The questions on the test are then based off the performance objectives.  For the Michigan exam, there are four competency areas: soil fertility and management, crop production, soil and water management, and integrated pest management.

The Michigan performance objectives for each competency area can be found here: https://www.certifiedcropadviser.org/files/certifiedcropadviser/michigan-performance-objectives.pdf.

This session is intended to function more as a study session rather than a detailed instructional short course on the full range of competency areas.
We will work through the performance objectives within each competency area, but this half day session doesn't permit an exhaustive discussion on each point.  Please review the performance objectives before the session and plan to ask questions. The study session will be much more beneficial as a review of the concepts rather than a first look at them.

The CCA Study Guide was developed based on the performance objectives.  This is a good study tool for the exam and will also be referred to during our study session.  You can order one when you register for the session and they will be available for purchase at the session.  The cost is $75.00 and checks can be made payable to MABA.
