The  ONLINE Research Challenge Bootcamp will cover the 2017-2018 rules, forms, deadlines, competition dates, etc.  THIS ONLINE COURSE WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7/1/17-2/28/18

NOTE: Deadlines and competition dates listed in the course materials are for the Central New Mexico Region ONLY. Teachers/students from other regions are welcome to complete this training, however, please contact your Regional Fair Director for dates and deadlines pertaining to your regional fair.

This workshop also includes training for schools in Central NM that wish to field their own Scientific Review Committee (SRC)/Institutional Review Board (IRB) in order to be able to review student research protocols (human, microorganisms, hazardous "stuff") for approval PRIOR to the start of data collection as required in the Intel ISEF Rules for Pre-College Research.  Again, the information provided can be used by anyone (within or outside Central NM), but if you are from outside Central NM, be sure to touch base with your Regional Fair Director to make sure you are aware of any specific requirements of your region.

  • Completion of the in-person or online BOOTCAMP by at least ONE person from each school planning to send students to the Central NM Regional Research Challenge is MANDATORY!!
  • Completion by at least ONE committee member from each participating Central NM school will also enable the school to field a local SRC/IRB, however, it is NOT required for schools to set up their own local committees. Schools in Central NM without their own review committees MUST submit ALL protocols requiring prior approval to the Central NM Research Challenge Regional SRC/IRB by the published deadlines.

You will receive a Certificate of Completion indicating professional development credit for the amount of time you spend on the online training. Certificates will be emailed upon verification of completion.
