Concussion Conference 2017:                                      Sports-Related Concussion Care

 The Slocum Research & Education Foundation in joint providership with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is pleased to host Concussion Conference 2017: Sports-Related Concussion Care on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 8:00a - 12:00p at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene, Oregon. Primary care providers, therapists, athletic trainers, allied health professionals, coaches, educators, and school counselors are encouraged to attend.

  Course objectives:

  • Articulate the neurological and psychological components of concussion.
  • Identify community and school-based support for appropriate response to adolescents with concussion.
  • Develop a comprehensive treatment plan for the pediatric patient with concussion.
  • Summarize case presentations requiring referral, and what type of providers are available to address specific concussion-related symptoms.
