John leads Fidato’s Retained Search Practice focused on placing executive-level finance, information technology, human resources and administration professionals in the Delaware Valley and surrounding area. Prior to joining Fidato, John was a core member of the Financial Officers Practice at a major global search firm where he worked with a number of private equity-backed, publicly-traded and Fortune 1000 clients.  

TOPIC:  The Best Candidates I Interview... A Headhunter’s Thoughts on Working with Headhunters

John spends a significant amount of time meeting people, interviewing candidates and assessing talent.  While everyone he meets is unique, there are certain traits that the strongest, most memorable and most successful candidates each have in common with one another.  His presentation highlights these traits and gives new perspective on how the best candidates operate. 

Topics covered in this presentation include:

  • Effectively positioning yourself with headhunters so they keep you top of mind as job opportunities arise;
  • The need for complete transparency and openness when interviewing with a headhunter;
  • Etiquette for contacting headhunters when reaching out to them for the first time;
  • Reacting appropriately when it feels like a headhunter is being unresponsive or blowing you off;
  • Determining the appropriate cadence for following up with headhunters after the initial meeting; and
  • The importance of connecting with headhunters on both a personal and professional level.

The goal of the presentation is to give attendees the tools to forge positive and meaningful relationships with headhunters, as well as keep themselves relevant.
