Perfecting Your Pitch

Join us for a workshop by nationally known consultant, author, and Washington County resident Tom Wilson of Campbell & Company.

The focus of this training is teaching nonprofit teams how to prepare and communicate a concise and compelling message to their own donors to secure funding. All nonprofits who depend on donors to fund their work are invited to attend.

We recommend participants to bring a team of 2 (minimum) – 4 (maximum) people including your Executive Director, Development staff, Communications & Marketing staff, and/or board members.

Attendees are expected to come prepared with a draft 10-minute pitch about a project at your organization which you will work on during the training.

12:30-2:30 pm training, tips and practice with your peers
2:30-3:30 pm: Four teams will be asked in advance to present their pitch in front of the entire group for constructive criticism and cheers.

Cost  (per team):
$0 - Organizations with no paid staff
$40 - Organizations with paid staff

Workshop is limited to 10 teams, sign up now!

About our presenter:

Tom Wilson is a big-picture person. Building successful campaigns from inception, reinvigorating stalled initiatives and leading board and staff training summits are just a few of his talents. He takes on each of these challenges by first asking clients to reflect on their impact to society and to tell their story to the community of donors to understand what inspires philanthropic investments to their cause. Tom asks nonprofit leaders to focus on their organization's vision for the future and how they can transform the people that they serve. He helps clients understand that creating a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization, not just in the fundraising office, can inspire donors to new heights of giving.

Tom trained as a musician and educator (clarinet, saxophone and conducting – high school, youth orchestra, and community symphony) and has degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Northwestern University. Tom and his wife Sue enjoy sailing on the Oregon Coast on their 35’ sloop Ihlabela.
