The Use of Innovative Technology and Services
at Home and in Senior Facilities
Homecare agencies can accommodate virtually all care needs in the home; however, the cost of such care can become unaffordable for many people. Homecare service costs are directly related to the number of care provider hours spent. Reducing the number of provider hours is the only way to reduce costs. Learn about effective technologies and programs that can minimize care hours. These programs includie automated delivery of compliance packaged medications, automated pill dispensers, electronic monitoring systems and meal delivery services.
PRESENTERS
Sandy Christensen
Sandy has been working in the senior living field for over 30 years. She started out her career as a caregiver until obtaining her nursing license. In her career as a nurse she served in many different roles. She was a Director of Nursing for 10 years before becoming an Executive Director and now the Vice President of Operations for Balfour Senior Living. She has been with Balfour for the past 18 ½ years. Sandy has always been innovative with her approached to care and has brought many technology systems to Balfour. She continues to look for ways to not only improve the lives and care of the residents as well as create efficient systems for the staff.
SANDY CHRISTENSEN |
After experiencing homecare services with his grandfather, Jeff
Loewenthal left his career in international trade in 2008 and opened
the Denver office of BrightStar Care. He has since grown it to be one
of the largest private duty agencies in Denver and one of the largest
BrightStar offices in the country. Mr. Loewenthal has been awarded
both of BrightStar’s highest honors, Multi-Unit Owner of the Year and
the Clinical Excellence Award. Mr. Loewenthal’s operational focus is on
always providing the best possible care and striving for 100% client
satisfaction. This is achieved through high clinical standards
(BrightStar of Denver exceeds even Joint Commission requirements)
and a constant search for smoother and more efficient business
practices. Mr. Loewenthal is an early adopter of technology and tries
to integrate new products to improve patient experience and outcomes
while reducing costs for clients.
