A graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, Karyn received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a M.Ed. degree in psychology and counseling from DePaul University, Chicago, IL.
She enjoyed an eclectic and creative life which spanned several diverse career paths: on-air radio personality at Rock 103.5 in Chicago; talented metalsmith and custom jewelry designer (Karyn Haney Designs); and dedicated Chicago Public School counselor and case manager.
Those who knew her will miss her work ethic and organizational skills, her commitment to service and social inclusion, her generosity and compassion and her creativity in both her artistic and counseling work. But, most of all, they will miss her joie de vivre, her charismatic personality and her infectious laugh. We commend her spirit to her next path...that of everlasting life.
