ASM's Fall Conference, ArborFest, provides tree care professionals with a full day of sessions devoted to the climber, plant health care professionals and utility/municipal arborist. Some sessions are outdoors making use of the natural surroundings in Midland creating a unique learning experience. Please dress for the weather, walking and possible insects.
Join MI tree care professionals to hear and learn more about many safety issues involving traffic control in work zones, rigging, root decay and more on Friday September 15, 2017. Program includes: MSU Professor Dr. Bert Cregg's research on tree roots; air-spading field demo to reveal root structure issues and decay; techniques to improve tree health starting at the roots by Bartlett Tree Experts; Dissection, by Dr. Dave Roberts of a tree's decayed low trunk/roots. MIOSHA presents updates and info on required training documentation, safety equipment around bucket, chip trucks and spray rigs, and newest PPE. Lucas Drews, Woodland Tree Service, will educate climbers on rigging techniques from tree top to base.
