Hub Training Seminar

Introduction to Public Procurement

Venue: Victoria House, Fulbourn, Cambridge

Date: Wednesday 18th October 2017

Hosted by the East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub, this event is FREE to NHS staff and will be led by Lauren MacLean of                leading law firm PInsent Masons. 

About the Seminar

This session is designed for anybody in the NHS who is new to public procurement, or whose work involves exposure to public procurement and requires a basic understanding of the principles, or those who already work in NHS  procurement but would benefit from a ‘refresher’ of the core rules and regulations .

The seminar will cover

  • EU procurement rules – what they say and when they apply
  • Overview of procurement procedures and the key issues at each stage
  • Pre-qualification and selection
  • Working with standard terms and conditions
  • Procurement short-cuts
  • “Golden rules” and avoiding challenges
  • How to handle a challenge if it arises

The seminar will follow the approximate timings below:

1.pm - Registration and sandwich lunch

1.30pm - training starts

3pm - tea/coffee break

4.30pm - training ends

 

Please note, this training seminar is is only open to NHS staff. Bookings from non-NHS staff will be deleted and there will be no admittance to the seminar. To book, you will need to use your NHS email and state your current NHS place of work.
