Tour of Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka

Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka’s new corporate headquarters is now under construction. It's located on an 18-acre lot at the corner of 6^th and Wanamaker on the historic Menniger Campus. The design has been optimized for superior energy performance and is on target to achieve LEED Gold certification. Nearly 8 acres of the 18-acre site will consist of native prairie grasses and several bioswales have been included in the parking lot design for stormwater filtration. 

The building is designed to allow for natural light to penetrate to all interior work spaces and includes a three-story atrium to tie all primary levels together.  Extensive energy performance studies were conducted throughout the design process to ensure the design was on track to achieve LEED Gold.  Energy conserving measures include: a geothermal system coupled with heat recovery and a VRF system, reduced water consumption with low-flow fixtures, and waste management during construction.

Following the tour, we will meet for a panel discussion with key players involved in the build at Quinton's Bar and Grill. Food and drink provided.
