John Jordan Special Event

Join us on Friday night from 5-6:30 pm in Salon 9&10 for a special event with John Jordan.  John will draw on his lifetime of woodturning experiences to provide attendees a fact filled evening with additional information from his highly acclaimed book "The Aesthetics and Properties of Wood".

"The pieces I make are simple but finely detailed vessels. Manipulating the color and patterns in the wood to complement the form, and the texturing and carving to create visual and tactile contrasts are important parts of the process and the result. What I feel is most important is the intangible quality that the piece is "right" that comes with putting emotion and feeling into the work. A simple object can be very powerful and emotional just for what it is.

Instant Gallery

We invite every symposium attendee to display up to four pieces of their work for all others to enjoy during the symposium.  Always a favorite, the instant gallery will be on display throughout the Symposium.  This large exhibit of wood turned art provides a unique opportunity for collectors to become acquainted with both new and well-known artists.  For "Turners", the gallery is a great way to see what others have been up to.
