2017 Award Nominations
OPRA will be hosting its Annual Awards Luncheon, honoring winning nominees from the award categories listed below. So many dedicated employees and volunteers serve in our industry, and the Annual Awards Luncheon is a good way that OPRA recognizes and celebrates those efforts. We encourage all agencies to submit nominations, and to represent their respective OPRA Districts.
Please take a moment to review the award category descriptions and be brief in your response. You can nominate up to (2) nominees per category. We will contact you for personal details and photo if your nomination has been chosen for an award.

Community Member of the Year
“Community” is more than just the place where one lives: it’s the “feeling of fellowship” that can characterize any place, among any group of people. This Award is dedicated to the OPRA Provider Member which best creates “community” – within and without its walls, nurturing relationships with all the populations it touches.
Volunteer of the Year
This Award focuses on the recognition of non-paid community partners – who could be family members, community support persons, or friends – whose contributions are deemed invaluable to persons with developmental disabilities.
TEAM
This Award is devoted to exceptional teams that work industriously and conscientiously together to directly and positively impact the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Behind-The-Scenes Staff
This Award is dedicated to individuals who work “behind the scenes” to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Front Line Supervisor
This Award is for those individuals who make it all come together. They are the supervisors who energize their staff – and whose staff want to come to work. These are individuals who set clear expectations for their team members – who in turn, want to give more because of their supervisors’ leadership.
Direct Support Professional
This Award is for those individuals who make it all come together. They are the supervisors who energize their staff – and whose staff want to come to work. These are individuals who set clear expectations for their team members – who in turn, want to give more because of their supervisors’ leadership.
Maureen Corcoran Award
This Award goes to a PATHS-credentialed Direct Support Professional who demonstrates the competencies of the Community Support Skill Standards, upholds the NADSP Code of Ethics through his or her daily interactions with people with disabilities, and exhibits exemplary professionalism in all aspects of his or her job.
Community Partner of the Year Award
This award is to recognize community entities (non IDD provider agencies) who go above and beyond in offering volunteer and recreational opportunities in the community to the individuals we support. (Example: Animal Shelter, YMCA, Library, Nursing Home..etc.)
