Rehabber Club Wood Window Workshop and Certification Course - Led by Wood Window Makeover

Join us for our most sought-after Rehabber Club workshop! Register now for the Wood Window Repair Workshop and Certification Course, led by Steve Quillian of Wood Window Makeover. This course features four registration options, ranging from beginner-level to advanced. Learn essential techniques from one of the industry's best instructors!

About the venue: The event will take place at a historic home in the Monticello Park Historic District. Constructed in the 1930s, this grand Spanish Eclectic house features four sets of casement windows on the first floor that were custom designed for the home. The house is currently undergoing a full interior remodel, and these windows will be part of the finishing touches.

Additionally, the owner of this home will benefit immensely from this work. Lydia and her family have gone through significant hardships recently, including a fire in the house and the loss of her daughter. This course will provide much-needed repairs to the most complex windows in the house. Your participation will make a difference, and will help make Lydia's house feel like a home!

Level 1: One-day Homeowner Course (August 19 only) - This course is ideal for homeowners, do-it-yourselfers, or anyone interested in the basics of wood window repair. Learn the terminology, tools, and techniques behind stripping, refinishing, and reglazing.*

Level 2: Two-day Rehabber Club Contractor Certification Course (August 18 and 19) - This course is ideal for contractors, professionals, students, or homeowners looking to become skilled in wood window repair and potentially offer repair as a service to others. Participants will be added to the Office of Historic Preservation's Certified Contractor List!*

Level 3: Five-day Advanced Workshop (August 21-25) - This course is geared towards experienced window repair contractors seeking advanced training or individuals looking to enter the wood window repair business professionally. Topics will include mortise and tenon joinery, constructing new sashes in the field and fitting them into existing frames (scribing, planing, and cutting), casement hardware options, and more.

Level 4: Full seven-day Course & Workshop (August 18-19 and 21-25)

*Both Level 1 and Level 2 include the opportunity to join the advanced course on Friday, August 25 for the final painting of both the sashes and surrounding trim.
