 Miniatures, Myths, and Meaning in Sandtray Play Therapy - Beginner

Description:

This training explores the acquisition and therapeutic use of Sandplay play therapy miniature collection in clinical practice.  Practical issues of acquiring, organizing and tending a collection will be addressed and the theme of miniature in myth and fairytale will be examined in order to elucidate the compelling nature and potency of the various miniature symbols.  Child and adult Sandplay Play Therapy case material highlighting personal, clinical and archetypal levels of symbolism will be presented.   

This workshop is designed for:

Social workers (LCSW, LMSW, LISW, BSW, AAW), psychologists (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.) school counselors, school psychologist, professional counselors (LMHC, LCMHC, CMHC, LPC, LCPC), marriage and family therapists (LMFT, LIMFT) art therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, graduate students, and others in the mental health-related field.  This is a beginner level seminar which means that no previous experience is needed in order to participate.

Betty Jackson LSW, CST-T

Betty Jackson is an LSW (licensed social worker) in PA, an LGSW in MD, a CST-T (Certified Sandplay Therapist - Teacher through Sandplay Therapists of America), and a national and international presenter with over 35 years of experience in school, mental health agency, and private practice settings. Ms. Jackson works as a child & family therapist for Upper Bay Counseling & Support Services in Maryland and maintains a private practice in Christiana, PA.

CE Certificates:

     After completion of the workshop, participants who have provided payment, indicated attendance via signature & initials on the sign-in sheet that is provided at the workshop, and have completed an evaluation of the course will be given a CE certificate via hard-copy which will be presented at the close of the workshop upon completion of the course evaluation.  A sign-in/sign-out sheet will be provided at the workshop.  In order to receive credit, all participants must indicate attendance by both signing in and out.
