TOPIC: Highway 41 as a Multi-Use Corridor 

The City of Atascadero has multiple projects either recently completed or in various stages of study and design which seek to transform the western portion of the Highway 41 corridor from vehicle-centric to a more multi-use roadway.  The section of Highway 41 from Highway 101 to the City limit is a valuable transportation corridor with multiple land uses and user groups.  This presentation will discuss the recently completed corridor study, ½ mile segment of multi-use Class 1 pathway, and the new trailhead serving a privately owned 3 mile trail system as well as the future Caltrans pedestrian improvements and potential re-striping and reconfiguration of the existing roadway.

The speakers will be Ryan Hayes, the Deputy Public Works Director for the City of Atascadero, and Christy Gabler, with North Coast Engineering.  NCE was the design engineering and construction management firm for the Highway 41 Multi-Purpose Pathway completed earlier this year and also worked closely with W-Trans and the City to develop the Highway 41 Corridor Study and recommendations.
