Everyone loves a great story. From selling a product or service to raising funds or building a brand, storytelling crosses cultures and can be a highly effective messaging tool.

Join IABC St. Louis Thursday, Aug. 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moonrise Hotel as we discuss the art of storytelling to diverse groups. Our featured guest will be Casa de Salud President Jorge Riopedre.

In a brief casual presentation in the Apollo 11 room, Jorge will share his insights on:

  • The changing world of nonprofit communications
  • Crafting captivating messages using the storytelling art
  • Avoiding common hazards when communicating with funders, clients and customers

From presentation to patio, we’ll continue our conversation on the Moonrise Rooftop Terrace – taking in spectacular skyline views of downtown St. Louis, Forest Park, and the vibrant Delmar Loop.

Meet our Featured Speaker:


Jorge Riopedre is the president of Casa de Salud, a leading healthcare resource for the metropolitan St. Louis foreign born community, and part of the infrastructure that welcomes people of all origins to our region. As president, his responsibilities include directing medical and administrative staff, and managing major fund raising events, organizational development, marketing, and special projects. Jorge earned a Broadcast Communications degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, and in 1994 launched a media production company specializing in the Hispanic market. In January 2009, he was appointed executive director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis, for which he also served as Chairman and President. Jorge is a 2015 Eisenhower Fellow. He is a member of the St. Louis City Board of Health, serves on the University of Missouri-St. Louis Arts & Sciences Leadership Council and the Brown School of Social Work Advisory Committee, and on the community advisory boards for iHeart Media, the Nine Network, the Deaconess Foundation, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
