Supervisors/managers are responsible for following company policy and procedures and helping maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. What do supervisors need to know to cover these requirements and how can they be a better supervisor? This program will cover essentials of major employment laws to be aware of, interviewing, onboarding, communicating expectations to employees, coaching and managing performance, injury and illness management, and documenting employee issues. Understanding the Performance Management Process (1:00-3:00PM)
We’re all heard those two words, “Performance Management,” but what do they really mean in the world of Human Resources? The big picture of managing our employees’ performance is basic and has three primary elements. They include: Goal setting, coaching & developing, and documenting and providing feedback that calibrates how well the employee did relative to their goals and performance expectations. In this program, we’ll drill a little bit deeper into these aspects so that participants are clear about some industry best practices that support employees achieving best performance. Best performance translates into employees being engaged in their work. Engaged employees are supporting the overall business goals—a win-win setup that can be achieved with a solid performance management strategy.
