About Dan - Raised in New Castle, Dan attended St. Peter’s Elementary School then graduated from Salesianum High School in 1965. After graduation, Dan joined the Delaware Air National Guard’s 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Flight in January 1966. While working as a manager for a national paint retailer, he married his lovely bride Sandy, in 1969.

Dan completed six years in the Air Guard in 1972 and continued his civilian managerial work. In 1977, Dan returned to the Air Guard and in 1980 became the fulltime Aeromedical Evacuation technician. Subsequent positions included being chosen as the 166th Medical Squadron technician in 1992; and in 2002 was selected by Generals Vavala and Broomall as the ninth Delaware Air Guard Command Chief Master Sergeant. Dan retired after more than 36 years in the Delaware Air Guard in April 2007.

Immediately upon retirement, Dan worked for 18 months as the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve representative. In August 2008, Dan was selected as the first Military OneSource consultant in Delaware. In this position, he provided support and assistance to military members, veterans, and their families from every branch of the service. In 2009, Dan organized a community coalition called Military Community Partners to provide statewide support to our military members and veterans. This coalition, now known as Delaware Joining Forces, continues to be the benchmark for community and military cooperation.

On April 7, 2017, Dan retired from his work with Military OneSource, but continues to be involved with working with homeless veterans on a new statewide initiative.
