How Ag/Tech Grows STL Development

The St. Louis region has a new AgTech innovation district to build on the area’s leadership position in this field and to attract startups and AgTech companies from around the world, along with the jobs they will create.

39 North was officially announced in January 2017 and is rapidly emerging as a world leader in academic and corporate AgTech research and innovation.

AgTech is the intersection of agriculture technology with plant science. The name given to the new district, “39 North” acknowledges the physical location of the the area surrounding Lindbergh and Olive in Creve Coeur. The 39th Parallel North is both the location of the district and the coordinate of the prime agricultural belt across the globe.

With Danforth Plant Science Center, BRDG (Bio Research and Development Growth) Park, Monsanto and the Helix Center Biotech Incubator as anchors, the district will encompass 600 acres.

Sheila Sweeney, CEO of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, which is spearheading the project, will moderate the next Construction Forum STL presentation.

The event on Tuesday, September 12, will be held at the Grand Hall on Chouteau, home of the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 36. It will begin at 7:30am with a light breakfast and networking, followed by the presentation.

There is no charge to attend but registration is required. Please click below to register and join us for this informative presentation on September 12.
