Families and friends are invited to spend the solar eclipse with us and enjoy a unique viewing experience of the solar eclipse in the wide-open fields of Camp Discovery.
Join us for a traditional picnic, you bring your blanket, chairs and picnic lunch; we bring the water-melon. Learn about daytime versus nighttime animals as we explore the different ways that animals adapt to their night or day environment. Children will make and take a craft commemorating the special day. Then, let’s view the historic event together!
Bring your nature journal and record your observations of the solar eclipse as it unfolds. After the eclipse, we will gather around the old pecan trees, savor the taste of cold watermelon, and reflect on the experience.
NO pets, alcoholic beverages, or firearms are permitted. Camp Discovery is a smoke-free campus.
Eclipse viewing glasses will be provided. Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required.. Thank you to our sponsor Blythewood Bee Company!
