Workshop Design:

Over the course of the last 17 years, Innovative Learning Strategies (ILS) has sought to refine the strategic planning process to be one that is practical yet challenging for the organization seeking to focus their energies on their future. 

Steve Kuper, President of ILS, will present to executive directors and board members on the following:

• Why do you hold strategic planning sessions?
• Who is typically involved? Who leads the process?
• What preparation is facilitated prior to the event?
• Do you typically have a focus of the session?
• Review of the Mission and Vision; is it still current? Relevant?- Why this is critical to the success of any strategic planning process.

He will also lead discussions on the following:

• Identify stakeholders, discuss SWOT Analysis and the Hedge Hog Discussion.
• What is your economic engine; how will you make money?
• How does the non-profit model differ with the Hedgehog from the business model?
• Goals/Initiatives: Action Items for each goal (to be completed after each session by designated teams).
• The Cascading Communication Process

A workbook will include an overview of the discussion as well as examples of templates used in the process.

Steve Kuper has more than 30 years of keynote, training and consulting experience, including nine years in the corporate training department of United Airlines in Chicago where he designed and facilitated its Onboard Service Division’s Initial Training Program in diversity, conflict management, communication skills, corporate culture and other leadership skills.
