Session 1 - Aquatic Management Training
Aquatic Management Training is recommended for those with limited aquatic background and is an excellent refresher for experienced aquatic leaders. The participants gain the skills, knowledge and applied practical experience in the areas of risk management, legislation and operating practices that dictate the current operating standards of aquatic facilities in Alberta and Northwest Territories. Identification of hazards and non-conforming aspects of aquatic facility operations are covered, as well as, responsibilities of the aquatic manager, facility design, program design and operation, safe water management, managing risk, aquatic emergencies, and incident management.

Prerequisite: None

Session 2 - Aquatic Safety Inspector
Aquatic Safety Inspector is designed for individuals interested in conducting Aquatic Safety Inspections of the operational practices of aquatic facilities. Participants will gain an understanding of the regulations, protocols, and guidelines that apply to the operation of aquatic facilities. Participants apply knowledge learned in the class through hands-on inspections using Lifesaving Society Inspection checklists.

Session 3 - Supervision Evaluation & Enhancement (SEE) Auditor
SEE Auditor is designed to prepare National Lifeguard Instructors to conduct SEE Audits on lifeguard and instructional teams at supervised swimming pools and waterfronts. Participants learn the roles and responsibilities of SEE auditors and facilities, the value of SEE Audits, the SEE Audit process, scanning and safety supervision behaviors to look for while conducting SEE Audits and scanning inhibitors/enhancers. SEE Auditors gain the skills to provide tools and suggestions to supervisors/managers to support ongoing development of lifeguard and instructional teams. 

Prerequisite: Current National Lifeguard Instructor

November 16, 2017 - 6:00pm - 10:00 pm

Session Fee: $75.00

Note: You cannot register for both Session 1 and 2 because they run simultaneously. You can register for Session 1 and 3 or 2 and 3.

Lunch will be provided for Session 1 and 2. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. If you have concerns we recommend you provide your own lunch. 

Dinner will not be provided for Session 3. Candidates will be responsible for their own food.
