Friday, October 6th, 2017

Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis
35 Scudder Avenue
Hyannis, MA 02601

The Behavioral Health Provider Coalition of Cape Cod and the Islands (BHPC) continues to focus on education, communication, and improving access to services for individuals struggling with mental illness.  On October 6, 2017 join us at the 5th Annual Behavioral Health Summit for “The Social Determinants of Behavioral Health: Awareness, Understanding, and Action”.

Seventy-five percent of a person’s mental and physical health is determined by social factors such as poverty, housing, violence, and education.  This year's program will look at some of the largest impacts on a person's physical and mental health and what resources are available here on Cape Cod to address them.

The Summit is designed for those who provide care or support services across the entirety of the behavioral health spectrum including physicians, psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses, administrators, peer advocates, first responders, public safety, teachers and other health professionals serving children/adults and their families in our community.

Nursing, Physician, LICSW, LMHC, and EMS CEUs will be available.

Application for MaMHCA/MMCEP continuing education credits has been submitted. Please contact us at The Behavioral Health Provider Coalition of Cape and the Islands,(508) 827 - 1027, coordinator@bhpccapecod.org for the status of the LMHC CE certification.

In this session, learn more about regional efforts to coordinate housing services and access to those options. • Community Responses to Violence
Trauma and violence are widespread, harmful, and costly public health concerns that have no boundaries regarding age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Trauma is a common experience for adults and children in American communities, and especially in the lives of people with mental health and substance use disorders.
