Loving Kindness and Compassion

Meditation Weekend with

Adrianne Ross

The beautiful qualities of Metta (loving kindness) and Karuna (compassion) are essential for our own well being and for the world. Although they are innate, we often lose touch as our hearts become overwhelmed or closed. Through the practice of metta and compassion meditation we can reawaken and develop these boundless qualities so we can live with greater friendliness and kindness to all of life.

On this silent retreat here will be periods of guided meditation, sitting and walking practice and group discussions.

Adrianne Ross is a co-founder and Senior Dharma Teacher with BCIMS. She is a retired family physician and has been practising Buddhist meditation since 1984. Her spiritual journey also includes contemplative inquiry practices (Enlightenment Intensives and Diamond Approach) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

Trained by Jack Kornfield, Adrianne is influenced by both Thai and Burmese streams of the Theravadan tradition, as well as Tibetan (Mahamudra and Dzogchen) practice. She teaches classes, weekend and residential retreats in Canada and the US.

Adrianne is passionate about being awake in all areas of life, facing the challenges of diversity, equality and climate change though dharma eyes, and living the dharma as fully as possible.
