Junior Safety @ Sea Seminar      August 10, 2017

The Storm Trysail Foundation, and host, The Little Traverse Sailors and
The Little Traverse Yacht Club invite you to attend a Jr. Safety @ Sea Seminar.  This Hands-on seminar is suited for juniors with big boat experience as well as juniors with limited experience. The day will be outlined with classroom instruction, dockside demonstrations and on the water practice & drills, in boats ranging from 30 to 40 feet. 

The lead instructors,  who have specialized training, extensive heavy weather experience and have sailed tens of thousands offshore miles, will lead the day with the following topics:

Crew Organization ~ Big boat equipment and skills ~ Storm preparation ~
Crew overboard recovery ~ Heavy weather preparation plus sail combinations Dockside Demonstrations ~Safety gear ~ Flare use ~
Life raft deployment & use ~ VHF radio.

When: Thursday, August 10, 2017

Who: Participants ages 14-18. All Juniors MUST be accomanied by
an adult coach or supervisor.

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS EVENT!!

 Lunch and end of the day Pizza Party are included!

* All Coaches should bring foul weather gear and a PFD.
* All Juniors must wear boating shoes and bring PFD's,
a jacket/foul weather gear and sun block.
Water will be provided for on-the-water sessions
*PLEASE bring your own re-fillable WATER BOTTLE.

** All Participants MUST Complete a waiver (See registration page).
