As a result of the new Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Office of Head Start (OHS) has revised its monitoring protocols and processes to align with the new standards. OHS will begin a formal roll-out of the aligned system in early September. Let's get together and discuss what the new monitoring protocols and monitoring system means to your program. The Office of Head Start sent out a notice that included some insight on what we can expect. We know the focus will move from a compliance based feel to a more performance based feel. Acting Director of OHS, Ann Linehan, recently said they are looking at or identifying practices that take you to a higher level. They want to know if you are an A program or C program? What measures are you using to determine quality? This day will help you be better prepared and provide an enhanced understanding of what will be included. Also, you will be able to hear what your colleagues are doing to get ready.
