R.J. Buckle's 'Aromatherapy for
Clinical Professionals' Course

The Parkview Holistic Nursing team invites clinical professionals to participate in a 1 1/2 day clinical aromatherapy course Sep. 29 and 30. The instructor, Carol Scheidel, director, R.J. Buckle Associates, LLC, will lead participants through the well-known R.J. Buckle Clinical Aromatherapy for Hospitals, Health Professionals and Massage Therapists course.

 The 'M' Technique® Hand and Foot is also offered Sept. 30 from 1 - 5 p.m. at an additional fee.

Who can attend: Only clinical professionals, including: RNs, APPs, Pharmacists, MDs and Massage Therapists. 

• Describe the historical path of aromatherapy
• Define a true essential oil
• Determine the purity of an essential oil
• Describe the chemistry of essential oils
• Discuss the application of essential oils
• Compare 6 essential oils and possible clinical uses
• Discuss case studies
• Discuss 2 methods of extraction
• Apply principles of essential oils to case studies of clients with health challenges
• Discuss protocols, policies and training options

The 'M' Technique course, offered as an add-on option to participants, is defined by R.J. Buckle as:

A method of structured touch. Each movement and sequence is done a set number of times, in a set pattern, at a set pressure and set speed that never change. This makes it extremely easy to learn. And, because the technique is completely choreographed it is completely reproducible and therefore useful in research. The 'M' Technique® works on skin receptors that send signals to the brain. The technique has been described as physical hypnotherapy, ‘a kind of meditation’ and a 'spiritual dance'. The ‘M’ technique® is suitable for the very fragile, critically ill or actively dying patient, or when someone is just very stressed or when the giver is not trained in massage.

FAQ:

How much does the course cost? 
The Aromatherapy course is $200 for Parkview employees and $300 for non-employees. 
For those interested in adding The 'M' Technique course, an additional fee will be added: $50 for Parkview employees and $75 for non-employees.

Is this refundable? Once the purchase is made, it is not refundable but can be applied to a future class if you are unable to attend.

Will Parkview pay for this class for me? Some managers have funds to send employees to continuing education courses. Contact your manager if you are interested. We currently do not have the ability to transfer funds at this time.
