Morning Breakout Sessions

Surfing Life’s Waves with Grace, Jan Foran, Life Coach

Are you in the midst of a life change that is making you feel a little unbalanced?  Or are you anticipating a change that causes you to want to pause?  Perhaps you are feeling a little dissatisfied and wonder where or how to move ahead.  Or maybe you are experiencing a cornucopia of emotions as you anticipate the future. This workshop engages participants utilizing multiple interactive activities designed to raise awareness and then begin a plan to move forward with greater confidence and, maybe even, a sense of joy.

Embodying Balance in Prayer and Life, Shirin McArthur, writer, editor, spiritual director

Are you curious about prayer and worship using movement instead of words? Move beyond your assumptions or inhibitions to find balance through guided meditation and gentle movement. Join with Embodied Prayer teacher and Spiritual Guide Shirin McArthur as we explore both our spiritual and physical roots and celebrate God’s guidance and fruitfulness in our lives. No experience is necessary and any body can participate—even those who need to remain seated. Come open yourself to movement in prayer: a fresh way of reconnecting with God.

Rx for Worry, Anne Lewis, M.S., LPC

A Woman's Journey Into Wisdom - Rev. Carla Williams

Psalm 90:12 instructs God's people:  Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.  In order to honor that call, we must recognize that worldly wisdom is not the equivalent of God-centered wisdom.  This workshop will examine the common experiences that put each of us on that path of growing into, and gaining a heart of wisdom.

Balance and Tone, Lisa Skillman, All Your Heart Fitness

Join Lisa for a Balance and Tone workout. This class covers a variety of exercises designed to improve muscular strength, balance, and range of motion.

Resources for Caregiving in Tucson:  Where do you fit? Louise Doran, RN

Do you wonder if there are better ways to manage caregiving for your loved one – your child, a disabled family member, an elderly parent? Sometimes a sense of obligation can lead us to provide care in ways that leave us unbalanced. This workshop will offer ideas for care and ways to think about how to balance out self-care with caring for a loved one. A list of caregiving resources in Tucson and the categories of care will be provided as well, including physical, emotional, and spiritual support sources.

Bullet Journaling, Shelly Akins, Children’s Ministry Director

Create your own bullet journal. What is a bullet journal? It’s a customization and forgiving organizing system. It can keep track of everything from grocery lists, to favorite quotes, to your family calendar, to how much water you’re drinking. It’s all in one place. You make it your own, so it works for you. During this workshop we’ll cover the why, what, and how of bullet journaling, and have time to start your own bullet journals.
