REALTOR® Safety
Self-Defense

Self-Defense Taught by Peace Over Violence
Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully prevent, escape, resist and survive violent assaults. A good self-defense course provides psychological awareness and verbal skills, not just physical training.

Participation in self-defense classes encourages you to think in terms of options and choices, develops your awareness and assertiveness skills and provides practice for physical self-defense techniques. It expands the way you think about violence prevention, helps you deal with your fears and enables you to feel more empowered in your life.

Professionalism and Safety go hand in hand. Whether you are an agent who is savvy or newly licensed, it's important to audit your business, your systems and practices to lessen exposure to risk and increase efficiency. This course will help real estate practitioners implement best practices, which will result in professionalism and safety. Know how to avert or respond to dangerous situations while practicing the art of real estate sales.

Attendees will learn how to limit risk to preserve safety and facilitate positive business outcomes. Additional topics covered include:

  • Safety protocol for showing properties and listing appointments
  • Understanding physical and instinctual response to threats or attacks
  • Data security for your business and clients
  • Protecting personal and electronic information

Instructors:
Suzi Dunkel-Soto, NAR's Real Estate Safety Certified Instructor and 2017 WSGVAR President
&
Albert Tran, NAR's Real Estate Safety Certified Instructor and WSGVAR Executive Officer
