Ship Alumni Autumn Adventure Hike
Pine Grove Furnace State Park

Bring the family and join other Ship Alumni for a walk in the woods on Sunday, October 8^th, from 2-4 PM at Pine Grove Furnace State Park!

Sign in will be open from 1-2 PM at the Furnace Stack Pavilion (parking is readily available near the pavilion).

The all ages hike beginning at 2 PM will be led by Dr. Richard “JR” Stewart, Shippensburg University Department of Biology faculty member. During the guided hike, Dr. Stewart will present on edible berries and plant identification, basic survival shelter set up, natural wildlife identification, along with other natural history and survival skills. Conclude the day at Furnace Stack Pavilion with a campfire, mountain pies, and smores! Bring a refillable water bottle for your drink.

Get ready to hike, explore, and connect with Ship friends that share a love for nature! Dogs welcome!
