Strengthen your board role and ability to provide direction. Discover what is needed to ensure a strong future for your organization.

Understanding Your Charity's Financial Report With John Altman, CPA: If reading financial statements and reports is like a foreign language to you, attend this workshop to learn how to "make sense" of it. This session will include an overview of the most essential reports you should be preparing, how to read and interpret them, and how and when to get additional assistance and guidance. 8:30am to 10AM

Legal and Regulatory Responsibility and Understanding With Shelly Caselle-Dercole, CPA: This workshop will help you understand and "sort out" the legal and regulatory requirements of being a nonprofit. Find out what you need, where to file, how often you need to review and update your information, and where you can get help. 10AM to Noon

  John Altman is a Certified Public Accountant and has a long history in both business and the non-profitsector serving as a senior financial executive, group general manager, private consultant andeducator. His range of experience encompasses wealth realization strategies, obtaining financialcapital, implementing operational improvements, executing mergers and acquisitions, and anInitial Public Offering.

John is a faculty member at Aurora University and Columbia College of Missouri. John is the LeadInstructor for the Columbia College Crystal Lake and Elgin, IL Campuses. John joined ColumbiaCollege in 2003 after a long career in the corporate world as a member of the faculty he providesinstruction in Accounting, Finance, Economics and Management Strategy. In his role as instructorof Columbia’s business capstone class, Management Strategy, in Elgin and Crystal Lake, John hasutilized his extensive business experience to successfully transition the class to a competitivebusiness simulation that tests the business knowledge and skills of the students.

 Shelly Casella-Dercole is a CPA and Partner with Eder, Casella & Co and has offices in McHenry and Barrington. She has over 15 years of experience assisting not for profit organizations with audit, tax, accounting, and consulting.
