Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Seminar: Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment

Utah Maternal Mental Health Collaborative and University Health bring you a two day seminar on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. This two day seminar is being held to increase the support for families suffering from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

Friday Seminar:

Screening, Identification & Treatment for all Healthcare Professionals

Speakers: Amy-Rose White, LCSW & Ellois Bailey, DNP, APRN

Purpose: Perinatal Mood and anxiety disorders affect 25% of women nationally. Well-researched but often misunderstood by clinicians, these illnesses are related to an increased risk of suicide, poor birth and neonatal outcomes, and long-term negative effects on child and maternal mental health. This presentation will cover the basics of prevalence, unique symptomatology of disorders in the perinatal periods, emphasizing information on screening tools, assessment protocols, and the unique treatment needs of perinatal women and families in Utah. It will also cover psychotropic medication during pregnancy and lactation, functional medicine evaluation, concrete strategies for support, and resources for patients and healthcare providers.

Target Audience: All Healthcare Providers working in Maternal Newborn Care

Saturday Seminar:

Treatment, Assessment & Intervention for Psychotherapists

Speakers: Amy-Rose White, LCSW, Leah Jaramillo, LMFT, Kate Rogers, PhD

& Kate Rodgers, Ph.D

Treatment overviews of CBT for perinatal patients and implementation of Exposure and Response prevention treatment for perinatal OCD will be discussed. Protocols to reduce suicidality and prevention of harm, and resources for Utah patients and healthcare providers are also included.
