Presto Plus: Group Piano Classes for Adult Beginners

PRESTO Plus is a group piano class designed for adults who want to learn to play the piano for fun!  No pressure to perform or excell, just learning piano for the joy of playing! You don't need a background in music, this class starts from the very beginning!

Dr. Nan Richerson, a Salisbury University piano faculty member, teaches both classes. She enjoys working with adults, and has developed Recreational Music Making (RMM) programs for adults in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Maryland.

Classes meet on SU's campus in Fulton Hall, Room 234. This room is equipped with a piano lab, and has 10 digital pianos. Each piano has a headset with earphones and a microphone that is connected to a conferencing system. This enables students to hear the instructor's voice and piano in addition to their individual piano (so students do not hear one another playing!). The conferencing system fosters a relaxed, stress-free learning environment that offers privacy in the midst of a group setting.

There will be two classes available this fall; Tuesday evenings, Oct. 10 - Nov. 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. or Friday mornings, Oct. 13-Nov 17 from 10:30-11:30 am.

This is a six week course, and the first two weeks are free, with no obligation to continue. The cost of the 6 week session is $88.00. Class size is limited, as there are only 10 spots available in each class.

There will be two open house events to see the piano lab and meet Dr. Richerson and your classmates! Tueday class open house will be Oct. 3 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm, and Friday open house will be Oct. 6 from 10:30 - 11:30 am, both in the Fulton Hall Piano Lab 234. Refreshments will be served! Please RSVP here!
