Teaching Tolerance

Using the Social Justice Standards as a road map for our session, we will examine various student tasks, teaching strategies, and texts from Teaching Tolerance organized by domains of Identity, Diversity, Justice and Action.

Teachers at all grade levels will walk away reenergized with tools to incorporate into their curriculum immediately.

Through this training, participants will:

  • Integrate the Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards into existing classroom and school climate materials.
  • Identify texts within the Perspectives text library for use in current lesson plans.
  • Build a complete learning plan using the texts, teaching strategies and student tasks within The Teaching Tolerance Curriculum.

Audience: School teams engaged in culturally responsive practices.
